This services company had an established position in the
marketplace but had lost focus in business development. They needed
to re-group,
establish their core focus and increase their win rate. Up front
effort was spent on analysis, establishing the real win rate and
gaining insight into the reasons behind lack of performance. Once
this view was accepted, we moved on to the second phase: designing
a sector oriented sales strategy, underpinned by clear analysis
which enabled accurate client targeting, effective pipeline management
and cost-effective deployment of scarce resources.
This focused attention on building a balanced pipeline and winning
a profitable portfolio of deals; sales increased by 19% versus 6% market
growth, which created the business case for an alliance management
function with the specific objective to drive profitable growth, and
helped shape a successful team which won over £50m business.
